But ifyour fear you would seek
Only loves pead loves pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you ver
Your nakedness and pass out of loves threshg-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall ugh,
But not all of yhter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but fro itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is suffit unto love.
When you love you should not say,
“God isy heart,”but rather,“I athe heart of God.”
And thk not youdirect the urse of love,
If it fds you worthy, directs your urse.
Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.
But if you love and t needs have desires,
Let these be your desires:
To lt and be like a runng brook
That sgs its lody to the night.
To know the pa of too uch tenderness.
To be wounded by your own uandg of love;
And to bleed willgly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a ged heart and
Give thanks for another day of lovg;
To rest at the noon hour and ditate loves ecstasy;
To return ho at eveh gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for
The belovedyour heart and a song of praise upon your lips.
